On Tuesday, most Islamic countries around the world celebrated the advent of Eid al-Fitr, after the end of the holy month of Ramadan, and mosques witnessed the arrival of worshipers to perform Eid prayers. On Tuesday, the Sudanese celebrated Eid al-Fitr in light of the political tension, protests, and confrontations between security forces that led to a number of deaths and injuries ahead of the holiday. Residents of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, flocked to mosques to perform Eid al-Fitr prayers amid an improvement in the security conditions in the capital and throughout the country compared to previous periods that witnessed the Islamic State’s control over several regions of the country.
